LaVida Mission
What is LaVida Mission?
That's an interesting question without a simple answer! What is LaVida Mission?
-
LaVida Mission has been a non-profit mission to the Navajo Nation for over 60 years (see the 'history' tab under About).
-
We are a mission that espouses the beliefs and practices of the Seventh-day Adventist church and operate a boarding academy for Navajo children grades K thru 12.
-
We are the mail service for 200+ families in our community who might otherwise not be able to receive essential mail due to lack of transportation to the Farmington Post Office (50 miles away).
-
We provide life-sustaining water to many families here in the desert who have no wells or other source of water to support their families and livestock.
-
We provide clothing and food to those in need.
We have an evangelistic outreach to this community that is second to none with more Bible studies than we can handle, a prison ministry, a new satellite church in Crown Point, and a clothing bank.
Most importantly, we are home to not only the staff who serve here and the children who call this place home, but we are the only "Jesus" that some will ever see.
LaVida Mission is truly "The Light on the Hill and the Safe Haven for All".
